Strategic Alliance Consulting Inc. (Strategic ACI) has an immediate opening for a full-time Commercial SATCOM Systems Expert (CSSE). This position is located in Hanover, MD but requires regular trips to Ft. Meade, MD to support our customer, the Defense Information System Agency (DISA).


  • Participate in or conduct technology assessments, market research and analysis to identify and recommend viable solutions to augment current DoD wideband and narrowband satellite systems. Support the Government in exploring leading edge technologies that provide secure and reliable network solutions. 
  • Evaluate the impact of transition for COMSATCOM systems to any future technological advances adopted by the DoD, with respect to Information Assurance (IA) (security and availability), interoperability, and end-to-end performance, to ensure its support for the protocol.  
  • Collect and analyze DoD COMSATCOM utilization and expenditure data, provide technical analysis and identification of program issues, risks, and associated mitigation strategies.
  • Conduct independent market research of COMSATCOM service providers, resellers, and integrators to help evaluate alternative acquisition strategies and SATCOM architectures.
  • Provide recommendations and assist the Government in policy review, evaluation and development 
  • Produce product and technology assessment reports
  • Prepare white papers, technical reports, briefings, studies, and records of proceedings (i.e., meeting minutes)
  • Travel within the Washington DC Metro area, to include Fort Meade Maryland, will be required.
  • Other duties as assigned.


  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent required; Master’s degree preferred
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience with Commercial Satellite Communications in a business development, product development or sales engineering role.
  • Ability to multi-task with a high degree of accuracy and minimal supervision in a fast-paced environment with specific time constraints.
  • Ability to use individual quantitative analytical capabilities to solve problems and complete analysis.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook required.
  • Able to work with and appropriately protect classified and proprietary information.
  • Strong organization skills
  • Ability to write procedures/plans in a logical/methodical manner.
  • As position requires extensive direct client contact, excellent attention to detail and communication skills are a must.
  • Candidates must be a U.S. citizen and will be required to obtain and maintain a DoD security clearance.
